Wendy Gritter will be presenting two workshops at this year’s Day of Encouragement (CRC):

Nurturing Generous Spaciousness: A Response to Gay Christians in the Church (morning workshop)

How can we navigate diverse perspectives on homosexuality, extend hospitality, encourage discipleship and promote unity in our churches? We will reflect on the stories of gay Christians and encourage transformational dialogue.

Being LGBT in the CRC (service site workshop)

Being a sexual or gender minority person in the CRC is not easy. How do the decisions of Synod 2013 affect this issue? Join us for a time of sharing stories, opportunities, concerns, resources, encouragement and prayers for the CRC to be a place of radical hospitality.

What is Day of Encouragement?

Diaconal Ministries Canada and Christian Reformed Church Home Missions invite you to join us at the Day of Encouragement on October 19, 2013 in Ancaster. There will be great worship, wonderful fellowship and plenty of opportunities to be equipped!

Our theme for this year comes from 1 Cor. 12:7. “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” What an amazing blessing for the church! Your gifts are different from your neighbour’s gifts, distributed by the Spirit “just as He determines.” And that gifting is what the Day of Encouragement is all about. No matter what your gift, you can come and be encouraged, but also develop your gifts as you learn and interact with others. Did you catch why the Spirit gives us these gifts? It is “for the common good.” We all have something to contribute as we are sent together, into our communities. One body. Many gifts. One mission.

Come and join 500 people who will gather together in Jesus’ name to worship and celebrate the Giver of all good gifts! There will be plenty of conversations and workshops to inspire and equip you to serve confidently as God has gifted you for His mission.
