This time of your life is all about figuring out who you are and that often includes questions about faith and sexuality. Although it’s getting easier to be LGBTQIA2S in most Canadian public schools, it can be hard to find space to be both queer and Christian. Even if you can be gay or trans at school, it might be difficult at home or church. Not to mention, it can be hard to be a person of faith at school, queer or not!
Generous Space is a national non-profit organization that is works with queer people who are Christians or coming from faith-based backgrounds, and have particular questions or interests in both sexuality and faith. Generous Space doesn’t try to “fix” or change your orientation, nor do we try to tell you what to do with your identity and attractions. The only person who can label you is you. We are here to listen, provide encouragement, resources, support and (if asked for) advice, and we can potentially connect you to helpful supportive organizations and people in your geographical area.
