Faith Forward – Nashville

This isn’t your average children’s and youth ministry conference!

Something is happening in the church. A new kind of Christianity is taking root and growing across the globe. New forms of ministry, worship, and community are emerging. Questions are being asked. And change is happening.

But amidst these changes and shifts, children and youth are being left behind. Innovative approaches to ministry with adults are emerging around the world, but little critical reflection and attention has been given to how to nurture young people within a new kind of Christianity.

In May of 2012, hundreds of leaders, ministers, volunteers, parents, and students gathered for “Children, Youth, and a New Kind of Christianity” (CYNKC) in Washington, DC, to explore  what spiritual formation of children and youth looks like in the midst of these changes. Over four days, conversations were sparked, questions were raised, and new practices were forged surrounding how to nurture faith in youth and children in ways that are innovative, forward-thinking, honest, and faithful to our contemporary contexts.

The 2014 Faith Forward gathering will continue the movement that began at the 2012 CYNKC conference. Faith Forward is dedicated to bringing together children’s and youth ministry leaders for collaboration, resourcing, and inspiration toward innovative theology and practice.
