GENEROUS SPACE CAMPOUT 2018
August 3, 2018 @ 4:30 pm-August 6, 2018 @ 1:30 pm

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to camp together for the August long weekend at Russet House Farm, hosted by Brian Walsh (author, professor & chaplain at U of T) and Sylvia Keesmaat (author & professor at the ICS & TST). It’s an intentional community concerned with living in ways that cultivate a sustainable relationship with creation, including organic methods of agriculture, preserving rare breeds, renewable energy, local economic development, sustainable forestry, species diversity and creating a place of hospitality, education, and celebration. The Farm is about 1.5 hours northeast of Toronto, and we will help arrange rides for carpooling up there.
You can choose to join us for the full long weekend (3 nights) or for a shorter part of it (see ticket prices below). We will be tenting in an open field, so some camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, mats, etc.) will be necessary, but we will plan ahead of time so that those who have extra can share with people who don’t have gear of their own. We’ll be planning some delicious meals, and attendees will be sorted into teams to take turns supporting them in cooking and cleaning up.
In the daytime, there will be opportunities for hanging out and playing board games & sports, with the option of also learning & lending a hand around the farm. There is lots to do in the surrounding area, and morning and afternoon trips can be arranged among campers interested in hiking, lake-swimming, go-karting, horseback riding, golfing, farmer’s markets, and more. In the evenings, Brian & Sylvia will share reflections with us, and we’ll enjoy singing and snacks around the campfire.
If your health prevents you from tenting, there are very limited indoor beds on site: please contact edna@generousspace.ca. If you want to be with us during the day, but you don’t like camping, we can recommend some nearby motels and B&Bs or attempt to arrange other indoor accommodations (note that the full registration fee will still apply if you stay off-site).
Camping spots are limited to 60 people, so register soon! Click here for more information.
